Date: Thursday, January 9, 2020
Time: 11:30 am  1:30 pm
Presenters: Heidi Stewart, Community Development Coordinator, Community Tissue Services
Matt Webber, Lions Vision Gift

Eye and tissue donation impacts the lives of both the bereaved and the recipients of the gift. While breaking down donation processes and impacts, this presentation will also illustrate the hope that eye and tissue donation has been known to provide grieving families. Pulling from experiences and personal stories, presenters from Lions VisionGift and Community Tissue Services will magnify what “anatomical donation” truly means, and explain how it is woven into the bereavement process.

The presentation will offer an overview of the types of donations available (organ, eye, tissue) that will leave attendees with an understanding they can take into their work places and lives.

Following the training, participants will:

  • Have a general understanding as to what each type of donation entails
  • Understand the bridging of grief and healing through the selfless act of donation
  • Be equipped with resources for more information about donation, as well as registration
